Although a little bit pungent, you don’t only have to drink it with warm milk like most do, there are other ways to reap its benefits. Times of India reported four different ways this diverse nutritional spice can help your body.

1. Turmeric Milk

Used for generations as a remedy for cold, cough or pain, this works so fast, it catches people off guard. Mix half a tablespoon of turmeric in boiled full-fat milk and gulp away!

2. Acne Gel

Turmeric is also very beneficial to skin and so can be used to treat acne. Take one-third of a tablespoon of turmeric and mix it with honey. Put this paste on your acne prone areas, let it dry and rinse.

3. Daily Detox Drink

One of the best benefits of this spice is that it has amazing detoxification properties. It’s very easy to prepare: add one-third of a tablespoon of turmeric, some honey for a sweet taste and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in lukewarm water. Make sure to drink this on an empty stomach every morning!

4. Face Mask

Used in cultures for its brightening properties, turmeric is prepared in the form of a face mask leaving skin smoother as well. One tablespoon of yoghurt, one-third tablespoon of turmeric and half a tablespoon of honey, mix it all together and apply it to your face. After its dried, rinse off!
