People often want to try something that they love to do during their free time. Indulging themselves in some activity sometimes give birth to new ideas. Similarly, one day Wallace was playing with matches and he was struck by an idea that he thought he should perform. He was aware of the expenses to execute his new idea but he decided to go for it.
Wallace made a giant sphere composed of 42 thousand matchsticks. Gluing them all together was a tough task but that didn’t stop him from completing the task. And that’s not all, after finishing the sphere he even set it on fire.
Wallace almost spent a year on his project. The whole plan cost him more than ₹30,000 he was sure that this idea will break his savings.
He would spend hours analysing minute details to get a proper shaped sphere.
The toughest part for him was glueing all the matchsticks. He has used more than 300 boxes to complete the sphere.
Wallace has even kept those empty matchboxes just to keep it as a memory of his of the blue project.
