It was the dreamless nights which led this egg-seller from Uttar Pradesh to find his inner calling. Staying awake all night, he would sing loudly and the same habit has now earned him a fan following online.
Kaushal Nishad, 22, from Lakhimpur Kheri district is a YouTube sensation today with total views of 5 lakhs, reported Times of India. The class 8 dropout is reaching out to the world with his golden voice.
An egg seller in the remote town of Nighasan, his new journey began when he bought his younger brother, Anil, a second-hand smartphone. “When Kaushal brought me a second-hand android phone, I was ecstatic. My brother was only an egg-seller for everyone but I knew his hidden talent and wanted the world to know about it,” said Anil to Times of India.
Inspired by the likes of Mhd. Rafi and Kumar Sanu, Kaushal had learnt singing on his own. His videos today garner appreciation from different corners of the world. “We now receive calls from different parts of the country and abroad,” says Anil who helped his brother embrace technology.
Kaushal used to wash dishes at a restaurant for 20 rupees a day but now YouTube has changed his life. He earns rupees 300-600 every day by selling eggs and his youtube channel draws him singing opportunities at weddings and other events through which he earns about 1000-2000 rupees.
Affectionately known as ‘poor man’s Mohammed Rafi’, it was one video that changed his life. His growing popularity is also drawing in more customers to his egg cart. “With time I have learnt that God has a plan for each one of us,” he said.
