This 29-year-old Russian model is towering in height, with an equally lofty dream. After being crowned as the tallest woman in her country, the 6-foot, 9-inch former Olympic medalist now hopes to covet the title for the world’s tallest model.

After her days of playing Olympic basketball came to an end, Ekaterina Lisina, who hails from Penza in southwestern Russia, switched careers, hoping to be recognized by Guinness for having the longest legs in the world, while also garnering the title as the tallest model.

“The record is held at the moment by Amazon Eve and she is 6-feet, 8-inches, which is smaller than me,” said Ekaterina, who thinks that she now has a chance to set a new record. “My legs are around 52.4 inches, which is longer than the current record holder,” she added.

Apart from possessing exceptionally long limbs, Ekaterina has also been officially named as the woman with the biggest feet in Russia. Her foot is a 47 in European sizes or a 12 by U.K. standards.

Her striking height and her giant feet have won her thousands of fans all over the world. “I do like the attention and I hope after I get the title I am going to get even more attention,” she said in an interview.

Back when she was only 16, Ekaterina had to choose between pursuing her dreams of becoming a model and playing basketball. She picked the latter, because she was already on her way to making it big in the field of sports. She put her catwalk dreams on hold, but she promised herself that she’d still do it when the right time came.

“I wanted to be a model since I was 16 but at that time I started my professional basketball career,” Ekaterina said. “Basically I had to choose between modeling and basketball and of course there was no question because with basketball I had talent.”

She played for various teams in the Russian Premier League, which included CSKA Moscow and Dynamo Kursk. Ekaterina also represented the women’s team for Russia at the 2008 Olympics. She and her team bagged a bronze medal in the competition.

But Ekaterina’s life was not always on top. Her older brother, Sergei, recalled her sister being picked on by other kids at school when they were young.

“I remember she was bullied a few times at school because she was the tallest and I had to show up there a couple of times,” he shared. But Ekaterina quickly realized that her height could give her a huge advantage in sports.

Now at 29, Ekaterina is more comfortable than ever with her body, and she does not have any problems being taller than everyone else around her—just the opposite—she totally loves it!
