Da Lat, the capital city of Lam Dong province, Vietnam, sits in a lush and green valley of postcard beauty. It is truly the most romantic place in Vietnam featuring majestic mountains and valleys, beautiful lakes and waterfalls, dreamy forests and gardens. Known by several names such as “Little Paris”, “City of Pine Forests”, “Land of Mist”, and “City of Flowers” it has become popular with domestic and foreign tourists alike.
Dalat in its cherry blossom season is the most beautiful, according to local people. The pinkish white blossoms bring about dreamlike scenes across the city and create a sort of magnetic attraction to the locals and visitors. The cherry blossom festival that takes place mostly around Tuyen Lam Lake is perhaps the most magical moment for the visitors.
Around the city, there are more than 3,000 trees, most of which were planted around Xuan Huong Lake, Dalat Maple Tourism Site, and downtown streets of Dong Da, Ba Thang Tu, Ho Tung Mau, Le Dai Hanh, Tran Hung Dao Street, Pho Duc Chinh and Tuong Pho.
The flowers are in their full bloom between January and March during spring. The beautiful scene of cherry blossoms is also seen on many roads leading to Da Lat, and around lakes and valleys. Many tourists flock to the city during the peak season of cherry blossoms to take photos, spend their honeymoon, or keep sweet memories of Valentine’s Day.
