The Delhi government recently launched the happiness curriculum for its school students with Kejriwal and Dalai Lama. Their main goal is to help people overcome “negative emotions” of mankind.
The uniting of modern and ancient knowledge is the first of its kind in schools in Delhi and would launch for students in nursery up to class 8. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed the occasion “historical”.
According to Times of India, the Dalai Lama said: “only India has the ability to combine modern education with ancient knowledge which is necessary for the fulfilment of human emotions.”
Moreover, they stressed the combination will provide both physical and mental well being. Also, this would help reduce negative emotions like anger, hatred and jealousy.
The Dalai Lama also focused on the ancient Indian knowledge in the country of its origin and how it spread to the world including Buddhism. Kejriwal also termed the ‘Happiness curriculum’ launched today as the third stage of reforms in the education sector initiated by his government after focusing on infrastructure development and motivation of teachers at government schools.
Even Deputy chief minister and in-charge of Education department of Delhi government, Manish Sisodia shared his thoughts asserted that the experiment might one day spread across the country and throughout the world.
