Simple statements and propaganda-puncturing messages conveying truths that the Chinese people have long been deprived of—owing to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) heavy censorship—have been popping up everywhere around China. Although the CCP keeps pulling them all down, the swelling tide of truth cannot be stopped.

Why do these messages keep appearing, and why they represent hope

At the onset of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, propaganda that was as mendacious as it was deleterious eclipsed China.

The four yellow Chinese characters on red squares stuck to the bus stop shelter read: “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” (The principles of Falun Dafa, a meditation practice that is persecuted by the CCP). Photo taken in Tieling City, northeast China

Be it television, newspapers, radio, internet, public billboards, classrooms, and workplaces, China’s 1.3 billion people were inundated with deceptive lies.

So much so that a dark manipulation of public opinion saw “good” turn into “bad,” and lies accepted as truth.

The right poster reads, “Redress the Name of Falun Gong and Its Founder.” The left poster reads, “The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” Hubei Province

The popular meditation practice Falun Gong, with its 100 million practitioners, was suddenly being wrongfully vilified by the CCP, all because there were too many people practicing it.

Good people who merely wanted to meditate, have healthy bodies, and be good, contributing members of society were labeled enemies of the state.

Moreover, they had no voice of their own to defend themselves.

If they tried to appeal to the authorities, they would be arrested, jailed, tortured, and may never be heard of again.

Their families may not even know when or where they disappeared.

Such is the tragedy a communist system inflicts upon people.

There were no proper channels they could turn to, as former Party Chief Jiang Zemin had given the order to “ruin their reputations, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically.”

He also instigated what is known as live organ harvesting—to forcibly remove the organs of these peace-loving people to sell, killing them in the process.

This is in fact a heinous and ongoing crime that still takes place in China today under the current CCP dictatorship.

An unknown person wrote “I Agree” in black on a banner that says “All of China [Should] Sue Jiang Zemin” in Qingdao, Shandong Province

It is thus that Falun Gong practitioners in China have come up with all sorts of ways to clarify the truth about the persecution to the public.

One effective way these valiant practitioners adopted is to quietly affix posters in public places.

It may seem like a simple act, but you may not realize how dangerous this is for them.

“Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” reads this poster at a bus stop in Tieling City, Liaoning Province

For example, in Shandong Province, two Zaozhuang City residents, Ms. Ren Weihua and Ms. Sun Zhongfeng, were jailed on Oct. 17 at the Yuelou Detention Center after being caught putting up these posters, per a report on Minghui, a website that publishes firsthand accounts of persecution cases.

Sadly, Ms. Ren’s health has deteriorated drastically since being jailed. It’s assumed that she, like so many other jailed Falun Gong practitioners, is being subjected to inhumane treatment.

Domestic security have forbidden her family from getting her the medical treatment she needs, despite their repeated requests.

Why do they put their lives on the line to do this?

Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Albert Einstein said, “The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.”

Although those courageous souls in China are aware of the dangers associated with standing up for justice, and of exposing the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa, it appears they will not regret giving up their personal welfare for the sake of the truth.

And thus, the posters just keep springing up.

In addition to informational posters about the persecution, there are also many posters portraying a simple message, one that the CCP does not want the Chinese people to know—“Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”

“Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” are the three main tenets of Falun Dafa, and many Chinese people are eager to learn more about this meditation practice that mysteriously “disappeared” on July 20, 1999. Thus, the posters often attract much attention, as seen above.

These three words, which are universal principles, are springing up everywhere, like at this bus stop, pictured below.

Although the persecution of Falun Gong has continued for 19 long years unabated, these messages show us that there is still hope things can turn around in China.

If not now, then someday…

“Stop the persecution of Falun Gong,” reads this one in Tangshan, Hebei

We hope that day comes soon.

We all want a peaceful China, let alone a peaceful world.

May the Chinese Communist Party’s propaganda be continuously exposed and seen for what it is. May people wake up, may the cult of Communism be removed, may freedom reign, and may Falun Dafa and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance be embraced in China once again.
