Marine Drive is one of Mumbai’s well-known tourist spots. The beautiful stretch attracts thousands of people every day however, the same beauty proved fatal for this man when he found himself drowning. It was the selflessness and bravery of three sailors from the Indian Navy that saved his life.

According to a report by Mid Day, on the night of Sept. 9th, three sailors named Akash (Ship’s Diver), Dhananjay Seaman( good swimmer) & Vishwakarma (Marine Commando) saw people gathered at a spot in Marine Driver. On noticing the drowning man, the three selflessly jumped in to save his life.

The spokesperson of Navy shared the incident in a release and wrote, “3 young sailors of Akash (Ship’s Diver), Dhananjay Seaman( good swimmer) & Vishwakarma (Marine Commando) rescue a man who had fallen into the sea off Marine Drive on the night of 09 Sept. Their selfless & prompt act of bravery is in keeping with the finest traditions IN.”

The man who had fallen into the sea was dragged out of the water safely and immediately administered with CPR. After he regained consciousness, the young sailors handed him over to the local police.
