An 8-day old baby was rescued first by an auto driver and then handed over to the Kodigehalli police. The baby was found near Electronics City.

According to a Times of India report, the baby was left in an auto in Kodigehalli Gate, the auto driver, Doddappaiah, had parked the vehicle there as the road was being repaired. By the time he was back, there was a large crowd around in auto. He was surprised and went to see what the fuss was about and saw this baby boy. The auto driver told TOI, “I usually pick up passengers from the Kodigehalli railway station and drop them toNagavara.On June 5 night, I was on my way to the station at 10 pm and found the road near Kodigehalli Gate was being repaired. I parked my auto there and walked to the station to find passengers”. He immediately alerted the police.

A woman constable on seeing the baby immediately breastfed him and gave him a new life. The police then took the baby to their care, they took him to the police station and gave him packed milk around 11 pm. They immediately admitted him to the hospital and the doctors said that the baby was healthy. The police handed over the baby to the Child Welfare Committee in hopes that a good family will adopt the child reported TOI.
