The flower, which starts blooming later this month, blossoms only once in 12 years. Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana), found abundantly in the Western Ghats, it changes the face of the hills in Munnar.

Munnar is known for this rare spectacle and this is the best time to visit the hill station. The lush landscapes are surely a sight for sore eyes and the pleasant weather is the perfect escape from the July heat.
