On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, let’s take a quick look at our Bapuji’s children, and how far they’ve carried forward his tradition.
1. Tushar Gandhi
58-year-old Tushar Gandhi is Bapujis great grandson and runs the Mahatma Gandhi Foundation. He is also the Chairman of Australian Indian Rural Development Foundation (AIRDF).
2. Leela Gandhi

Leela Gandhi, 52 years, is the great granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi. She is a John Hawkes Professor of Humanities and English at the Brown University.
3. Anita Gandhi
Anita Gandhi is the great granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, and is currently the Head of Analytics at FreshDirect, in the Greater New York City Area.
4. Ann Gandhi
Ann Gandhi, the great granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, is the lead Home Visitor at RN, having completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing (Forensic Nursing) from Quinnipiac University.
5. Arun Manilal Gandhi
Arun Manilal Gandhi, the fifth grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, is an Indian-American sociopolitical activist. He is an author, motivational speaker and interpreter of Gandhi’s philosophy of nonviolence.
6. Rajmohan Gandhi
Rajmohan Gandhi is an 83 year old biographer and research professor for South Asian and Middle Eastern studies at University of Illinois, Urbana-Campaign, US. He is the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi.
7. Shanti Gandhi
Shanti Gandhi, who is 78 years of age, is an India-born American cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon. He is the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi.
8. Ela Gandhi

Ela Gandhi is a 78-year-old Peace Activist who was also a Member of Parliament from 1994 to 2004. She is Mahatma Gandhi’s granddaughter. She is also the founder of the Gandhi Development Trust.
